Pat’s paintings for Parkinson's
Patricia Ouellette's love of watercolor started early in life when she worked in the Music and Art Department at the University of Maine at Augusta in 1978-79. Her boss, Charles D. Danforth, was an accomplished watercolor artist and because of him, she has always wanted to dabble in it.
However, as a busy wife of 37 years and mother of six, she never found the time. Then, as retirement age approached, she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. To "fight back", she rediscovered her passion for painting with watercolor and now utilizes it as a therapy and fundraiser. She has taken courses from local artists, studied with a couple of online programs, and has watched hundreds of YouTube videos.
Each floral greeting card she hand-paints on 140 lb. paper is unique and one-of-a-kind, with proceeds donated to Parkinson’s research for a cure.
Pat was our lead seamstress and installer for draperies at Friedman Designs. Please email paintingforparkinsons@gmail.com to purchase. Thank you for your support!
